Diet is a major factor in tooth decay. It can have a positive or detrimental effect on the health of your teeth as well. Diet is also one of the main causes of bad breath. All of our Hygienists have considerable experience in all aspects of preventative dentistry and is able to offer advice and support regarding your diet and can put together a tailored plan to help deal with your individual requirements working with our dentists.

Fissure sealants provide a very effective method of preventing tooth decay. They can help prevent the tooth from needing more intensive treatment later on in life, as they form a permanent protective layer and can remain in place for many years. They are usually placed in the adult molar teeth in children aged about six years of age; subsequent molar teeth at the age of around 12 years are also fissure sealed. You can also get white fillings.

We firmly believe that prevention is better than cure, regular cleaning of your teeth will help maintain your oral health as well as prevent more serious problems occurring later on.
